Short description of the project
|“The Stock Exchange School” is an educational initiative that started from a generous idea: to build and grow a financially educated generation, one that knows how to shape its financial future.|

“The Stock Exchange School” is a complex educational project which will take place in several stages.
The first stage of the project includes:
– organizing free weekly classes dedicated to all those interested in the stock market
– weekly show on a local TV station
The weekly classes are hosted by the co-founders of the program in partnership with the University “Lucian Blaga” of Sibiu (ULBS).
AS Financial Markets and co-founders Florin Oprea and Decebal Todăriţă concluded a partnership with the University “Lucian Blaga ” of Sibiu regarding the implementation of a financial education program among the students by organizing a series of free courses in three modules: initial, intermediate, advanced.
The need / problem that the project responds
The need for financial education among the population of Romania.
A recent study by the World Bank shows that the economic and financial knowledge in Romania (measured by the Financial Literacy Index) is at an average of 31 on a scale of 0 to 100 .
A GfK survey conducted for the Romanian Banking Association (ARB) in 2011 shows that the main information channels used by Romanians are: TV shows on financial and banking issues (42%); relatives / friends (40 %); banking products information (37 %); articles on financial issues in print or online (29%); banking agencies (27%); product information offered by banks websites (17 %); online search engines (16 %); forums, blogs discussing banking products and banks (10%), no source of information (33%).
Beneficiaries and target group ?
University “Lucian Blaga” of Sibiu students and any other persons interested in the stock market.
Program graduation by a number of 1,000 people at the end of the 2.0 phase by the end of June 2016 (the 1.0 phase is currently running and it ends in June 2015).

Web-based software for online courses : 1600 RON/10 months (39 USD/month) – MegaMeeting
Travel expenses for signing further partnerships in the country: 1000 RON
